Over 150 guests enjoyed a wonderful evening of fun and celebration at the ChelseaCenterfor the Arts’ 16th annual Autumn Jubilee event on November 12 at theComfortInnVillageConferenceCenter inChelsea,Michigan. The annual event raised nearly $30,000 for the CCA’s arts programming for the community, including its after school art clubs, held at the Chelsea School District’s elementary and middle schools, and its scholarship and tuition assistance program, which makes awards to dedicated CCA students in need.
The event featured an hors d’oeuvres dinner, silent and auctions, sale of handmade fiber necklaces and holiday cards, dancing, and karaoke! Highlights of the evening were vocal performances by CCA students Rosanna Beale, Lottie Prenevost, and Cheryl Oberholtzer, as well as the presentation of awards to the event’s Honorees – CCA piano instructor Lester Castellana, local artist and CCA student Missy Cowan, and Autumn Jubilee’s Honorary Chairs, Deborah Greer and Patti Schwarz of the River Gallery, located on Main Street in downtown Chelsea. The 2011 Autumn Committee was chaired by CCA Board Vice-President Maria Jacobson, and the evening’s activities were enlivened by Emcee Meagan Torrance, of TorranceLearning (Chelsea), Auctioneer Joe Merkel, of Merkel’s Auction Specialist (Chelsea), and DJ Productions, who set the stage for the dancing and karaoke.
